if you want authentic Mexican food, you might want to go to Oakland on Topeka's northeast side. With its liberal use of cheddar cheese and menu items like tacoburgers it's what you might call a Kansas interpretation of Mexican food. But it works. The chalupa (I think that's what they call it)--a flat fried tortilla spread with refrieds, beef and a pile o' shredded cheddar, is one of those salty/crunchy/greasy things that create instant addiction. I don't go to Topeka much these days, but when I do, Taco Casa is always on my itinerary.

YUM!: One word....DELICIOUS!!! I moved away from Topeka and the one eating place I miss the most is Taco Casa! I ate Taco Casa everyday! Its simple yet so fresh and tasty!
